About
Arjeplog is a wild, welcoming and wonderful place! Located in Western Swedish Lapland, with mountain ranges, a border to Norway and the Arctic Circle cutting straight through the region. In terms of geographical area, Arjeplog is one of Sweden's largest: 14,494.09 km2! It is also the country's least densely populated municipality: only 0.2 inhabitant per km2 so we have plenty of space! Our beautiful municipality is the most water-rich in Sweden with 8,727 lakes, 3 rivers, and Sweden’s deepest lake, Hornavan. Here you can find Sweden’s largest glacier, Sállajiegŋa and 25 nature reserves including the national park Pieljekaise. The light of the midnight sun makes the days last forever. Both serenity and adventure are just around the corner, for you to discover.
How to get here?
There are several different ways to get to Arjeplog, depending on how you want to travel.
By plane. By bus. By train. By car.
During our many times we explored Northern Scandinavia both summer & winter we found that having a car is the most convenient way to travel around.
If you are flying up, rent a car to discover all the goods of Swedish Lapland at your pace and freedom!
The closest airport is Arvidsjaur:
With Amapola/Populair you can get from Arlanda, Stockholm to Arvidsjaur in just over an hour. The easiest way to book your ticket is through PopulAir
Arvidsjaur Airport is located 100 km from Arjeplog.
Once you have landed, you can get to Arjeplog via airport transfer or rental car.
Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
An other option to fly to Lulea (also via Stockholm)
You land at Luleå Airport and by bus or car it then takes about 3 hours to get to Arjeplog.
Rental car options are available at the airport.
